Driving Dream

I realize that I don't write in this thing, and for the 1-2 people who read this, it is true.  I'm going to just use this to log on my dreams, so nothing will ever make sense.  I had this dream 2 days ago and wrote it down, but now I figure I'll put it here.

I had a dream where I was dating this girl, who worked at this pizza place.  Or who owned it with some people.  Very few people.  Anyways, the girl was unknown, since I can't remember her face.  She was nice though.  I think it just represented "girlfriend", and shared some characteristics with my actual girlfriend..

We were driving with her, me, one of her friends from university/college, and this chef at the workplace.  As we were going along, we had something that someone wanted in the vehicle, and we had to speed on the highway.  Well, we were trying to, she said she couldn't do it since she was driving.  We had a police car for some reason.

It then went into a scary moment, where we had a scenario that I mentally played out in my head of how well it went.  I imagined driving this car, dodging through in first person in the highway.  This happened for a few minutes, sped up REAL fast, then it came to this blur where I was going against the traffic.  I inevidably crashed hard into someone.  It was scary.

We reverted back to her, and she said "No matter how many times I try this, I'm not going to make it!"  She tries anyways, and at this one point on the highway, it turns upside down.  You need to maintain a base speed to pass it.  She drove pretty slowly.... and we fell upside down.  We landed, and it wasn't that bad.  Some emergency vehicles quickly got to us, and we just got out since there was practically no damage.  We were happy, and then went home to each of our individual places.

I talked to her later, and we were talking about chances.  I asked if I'm allowed a big forgiveness mistake if I screw up, and she said yeah.  I asked if I screwed up again what she would do, and she said she would again probably anyways.  I think I made a comment about how I wouldn't, unless it involves pizza, and we ate.  I think the place was called Russo's Pizza.

As for last night, I can't even make sense of it.  I found a free laptop on the corner that I picked up.  For some reason that had a game cart stuck in it.  There was some stuff happening with cops, who arrested two people, but then joked about it as they all headed to a party in TO.  If I wrote it down when I woke up it'd probably be better.

A weird dream of a game

So I'm posting on xanga because I have this great idea for a video game.  I don't expect anyone to read this, but I rather not forget.  Also, this was a dream I just had, so there's a lot missing.  Also, this dream occurred after being awake for 33 hours, and sleeping for 14 hours.

First off, the basis has to do with a theme of humans in modern day, and demons that prey off of them.  You would play someone who is just a regular guy, like a cop or some young adult who witnesses some horrible murder or something unexplained, and then is kidnapped by these demons.  I'm not sure why they would do that, but you witness the street that you were on seeing a different sort of vision.  The murder before happened in some area similar to the streets in Montreal were buskers normally performed, where you would have a large open middle and shops on either side.  So, it would be here that you see that demons have setup, and preyed on people mysteriously, invisible to the eyes of humans.  You say to the demons why they wouldn't prey off of other people elsewhere in the universe, but they say that there are very few groups of living beings scattered in the universe, and that it was very difficult for them or something.

You witness this for a bit before being sent back to who you were, with some clues as to who did the murder.  Although you know who, you have a real world trace back to follow.  For some reason when I dreamt this, I had a team of people with me (about 2-3), and we pursued him.  Upon visiting the murderer's house, it had some strange looks to it, as in it had a more darker mixed with church-like features.  It was there that you would view this scene one way or another where the demons tried to attack another group of people from a different world, such as this race of people with wings and magic.  I would say angels, but they didn't really have any typical angelic look to them, aside from having feathery wings, and magic.  The demons' attack failed pretty badly, and then these people sends off squads of their men and women to find the source of the attack.

After viewing this, we scoured the person's house and didn't find them.  But we had some leads.  That was the majority of the dream.

Key points that I had visible in my head that made me think this was a game was some sort of screen I saw for difficulty level.  I don't know if this was because I was playing something, or imagined this screen, but I saw that.  Also, I saw that places to be would include either the human world, the race of the flying people's world, and the demons.  I'm not quite sure if they were demons as in the mythology of heaven vs hell, but they resembled that close enough.  I'm not sure either if the flying people were good or bad.  It was just a dream.

Va... Snow Day Follow-Up

Snow Day.  The one day everyone in the year awaits for to have that unexpected holiday of R&R, and to get out of the school/work they go to.  For the GTA and surrounding area, February 14th was just that special day.  It took about 2 1/2 hours just to get to work from a 45 minute TTC location, and back at my university it was just in lock down for the day and night.

But seriously, lets talk about Valentine's Day.  It's not that usually on this day I'm single, it's just that it resembles any normal day of the year, except there's the added part where everyone is supposed to be more mushy and romantic and junk.  A day created by the industry to purchase their products without regards to cost to give it to that other person who isn't really hoping for that romantic day... she just expects it.  Fury might take you if you fail at this too.

Why does it work like this?  A day where the holiday is to give a gift to a girl so obviously.  If you really want to make that person happy, you'd do it unexpectedly.  Maybe make that one evening a bit more special with a small gift to her.  Or maybe on a day where she's feeling down, you take her out suddenly.  It's that random stuff out of the blue that work for humans, not the predictablity.  Not the $120 roses, or that diamond or whatever.  Just the expected (in a good way)!

As for myself, I gave a call to someone I haven't spoken to for a while, and purchased a game.  At there wasn't any hassle there, and I didn't have to lug 24 roses like everyone else on the streets and subway.

Amadeus and the Real Protagonist

There's a nice place in the downtown core of Hamilton called Theatre Aquarius which puts on plays for... well, the general audience of Hamilton.  A bit of finer entertainment as opposed to the bars that litter the streets on Hess on a Saturday night, with drunken banter going on.  Not saying that one cannot drink in a theatre (or get plastered, never do if you go to one), but the view and story for the 2-3 hours is something much more memorable than the lack of memory one gets while drinking with the crew.

I had some high expectations for the play, being a tragic story of a historical composer... a genius who made some of the best symphonic, chamber, choral... the list goes on.  I've seen the money before (which was quite well done), and expected something similar to it.  With the story following around Mozart wherever he goes, and so with the tragic hero.

Instead, the play followed around Antonio Salieri, the court composer of Emperor Joseph II.  It's speculated he killed Mozart, but of course the vagueness if he actually did or not is maintained throughout the entire performance.  For the character who's second to Mozart, his performance in the play was quite superior to that or anyone else.  Humourous, intelligent, his acting was enough to relate to compared to Mozart whose acting wasn't as real as one might have expected.  But it's with this that a lot of the times in any performance or play that characters not in the main spotlight are the ones most highly regarded.  Applause was given to everyone equally (from the cook to Mozart) until Salieri stole the stage with the entire audience whistling and clapping.  I myself stood to the Emperor along with my friend, since I think everyone deserved it.  Still, I would have thought that at seeing "Amadeus", that Amadeus Mozart would get the most, or at least more.

An performance a few years ago named the Nutcracker had the story following the young girl and the toy soldier.  Fairly lighthearted performances, the audience sat through and clapped after every song's end, before the next scene.  When the ending curtain call was done, the audience gave a standing ovation... to this guy who danced by spinning around and extended his legs earlier in the play.  You'd think the courageous soldier, the fair girl, or the evil villain would have gotten it, but instead it was this guy who danced in the background of one scene.

The audience makes the character popular, not the play in terms of the applause.  Although Salieri was the main narrator of the film, Mozart didn't get any improved applause when he came out either over the chef or anyone else.  The Nutcracker had the same with that background dancer stealing the standing ovation.  I guess this is where Best Supporting Actor/Actress comes in for some films, where even though a person is in very few scenes, they really make it to the people who view it.

I can't help but think of this as a bit of a reflection to reality, where some people in our lives that normally shouldn't have much meaning can dominate.  The movie American Psycho has the protagonist losing it completely against a fellow VP whom he barely knows because he has a better business card than him.  Not saying that the protagonist was normal by any case (he had this huge thing on status), but someone who just had a business card drove the man to go about killing so many.  Is this how it is with us?  The overall scope of life has us having a few main characters, such as the immediate family and such, but then there are those side characters that make a significant difference in our lives.  Role-models of people whom we may never meet, an act of valour in the newspaper, or someone who lived before our time... people who were just doing their own thing can become the keystone in the things that we do.  This applies to both the good people, and bad people in our lives which take up much more than they should.    I guess this is a bit obvious.  It's not just the immediate people in your life that make a difference.  But just think about it when that one person gets you riled up and you can't focus... they're not really anything in the motion picture of "(insert your name here)".  Just keep focused and remember that you are your own main character, and not to be hindered by others.  Not affected now, since it could be for the better... but never become lower than yourself because of another person who may not even be against you, such as Salieri to his colleague and friend Amadeus.

On a side note...

For the end of my CUSEC story I was telling before, the Falafel poisoned me and my friends for 40 hours and we missed the convention practically.  There's not much detail of feeling sick that I care to share, or is that interesting.  Just eat food you trust in foreign places when getting sick would wreck a year's anticipation of fun.

Crazy Reiigious-Highschool Dream

I just woke up, and had the weirdest dream.  Before I forget, I'm just going to say what it was about.

The first part consists of going around Montreal to these various companies, like Google or something. Various people got hired at these companies (aka my friends), so we were checking it out.  Google was more like a factory, and some people I liked and didn't like worked there.  I wandered about before heading to the next place.  But Montreal itself was hostile, so I had to watch my back.

I end up on the subway, except there are some people going around and burst firing uzi's in this strange area (there were some black-glass walls on one side.  I get hit a few times, but managed to make it to a safe point, where one of my companions proceeds to fight this incoming group of killers.  For some reason I know he's destined to win, and if I stayed I would have changed that history, so I didn't get involved.  Someone was shot with a laser though, or about to until I reflected his beam with this watch I was given.  I ran out of there once I did that.

The second part was just crazy.  I am in this large religious grounds, a mix between something in the middle east at my highschool, except there's only church-like structures.  The highschool elections are going on, and it's to vote in a VP, namely my old favourite VP.  However, there's much opposition in the ways of fanatical religious people, and there's people trying to vote, people praying, people trying to kill others with guns and knives, people defending, and me.  I keep getting shot at, and I just feel like I'm slowly dying, except I have this cup, and try to grab water from the local pools around to keep my life up like some sort of HP bar.  I survived it, and then won.

Reading back this probably makes no sense.  But I've never felt so awake (like after working out) after I've woken up before.  Maybe it was because of all the running...
